Lithium Titanate Oxide (LTO) battery is a type of lithium-ion battery renowned for high safety and ultra-long lifespan. With its negative electrode made of lithium titanate (LiTiO₁₂), it outperforms traditional graphite-based batteries (such as NCM and LFP) in faster charging speed, broader temperature adaptability, and exceptionally long cycle life.

Core Features:

• Ultra-long lifespan: Over 10,000 cycles (300~2000 cycles for conventional lithium batteries)

• Extreme temperature adaptability: Stable operation at -30°C~60°C (conventional lithium batteries are prone to lithium plating at low temperatures)

• Superior safety: Easily passes needle penetration test

• Rapid charge/discharge: Supports 4C~10C high-rate charging/discharging (1C~3C for conventional lithium batteries)

Application Scenarios:

• Medical devices (portable monitors, hearing aids)

• Industrial sensors (low-temperature resistance, long life)

• UAVs (high-rate discharging, low-temperature stability)

2. Advantages and Disadvantages of LTO Batteries

5 Key Advantages of LTO Batteries

1). Ultra-long cycle life (10,000+ cycles)

Ideal for scenarios requiring long-term use, such as energy storage systems and industrial equipment.

2). Extreme temperature adaptability (-30°C~60°C)

While conventional lithium batteries suffer significant capacity drop below 0°C with safety risks, LTO maintains over 80% performance.

3). Exceptional safety (no thermal runaway risk)

Suitable for high-safety-critical fields like medical devices, military, and aerospace.

4). Rapid charge/discharge (4C~10C)

Perfect for applications such as EV fast charging and UAV high-power discharging.

5). Wide voltage platform (2.4V)

Stable voltage reduces the complexity of Battery Management Systems (BMS).

3 Disadvantages of LTO Batteries

1). Lower energy density

Not suitable for applications with strict lightweight requirements (e.g., consumer electronics).

2). Higher initial cost

Long-term cost is lower due to extended lifespan.

3). Lower voltage

Nominal voltage of 2.4V; suitable BMS solutions are scarce due to limited market demand for LTO.

3. JYH's Core Advantages in LTO Battery Field

1). Industry-leading production of small-size LTO batteries

Most LTO manufacturers only offer large-size models like 66160 and 32140. To help customers minimize product redesign when switching from LFP to LTO, JYH has designed and mass-produced the following cell models (click the models to have more details):

LTO14500-500 (14mm diameter, 2.4V 500mAh)

LTO18650-1500 (18mm diameter, 2.4V 1500mAh)

LTO26650-3000 (26mm diameter, 2.4V 3000mAh)

                                              lto-low-temp-cells

2). Customized LTO battery solutions

JYH provides tailored solutions based on customer needs:

• Special size customization (e.g., ultra-thin LTO batteries)

• High/low-temperature optimized versions (-40°C~70°C operation)

• Ultra-low internal resistance models (<15mΩ for high-power devices)

4. Why Choose JYH's LTO Batteries?

Expert in small-size LTO batteries (e.g., LTO14500)
